Boericke’s Repertory is the index to his Materia Medica: symptoms arranged by body system, each with the remedies that cover it. This is the complete text, parsed from the 1927 edition — every rubric, every remedy, and Boericke’s own grading.
Boericke writes in 1927 medical English — coryza, taedium vitae, brain-fag. Plain words are mapped onto his where they differ, so “runny nose” and “tiredness of life” both land somewhere sensible.
How to read a rubric
Rubrics nest: Fever › Chilliness › Concomitants › Nausea means the nausea accompanies the chill, not nausea in general. Depth is shown by colour and by the trail above each rubric, so a rubric read on its own still says what it means. Boericke arranges everything alphabetically, and where a heading is broad he orders it Cause, Type, Location, Character of pain, Concomitants, Modalities.
Two grades, not three. Boericke italicises “the more frequently verified clinical remedy” and leaves everything else in roman — so a case built here should be weighed on how many rubrics a remedy runs through first, and on grade second.
