Amygdalus communis. Bitter Almond. N. O. Rosaceae. An ounce of alcohol is added to a pound of bitter almonds; then add six pounds of water-and distil down to three pounds. (Hydrocyanic acid is formed by the action of water oil the amygdaloids.)
